Channel Manager, Domestic, Government System Division

Details: The Channel Manager will grow the revenue of FLIR Government Systems business through establishing, managing, expanding, and supporting a network of representatives, dealers, and/or distributors. The channel network will work in conjunction with and supplement the existing US business development team with separation by market space and product line. Market Development The Channel Manager will coordinate with existing Business Development (BD) teams and be responsible for proactively building the new GS Channel strategy and executing to that approved strategy. Will utilize a variety of business development activities in selected markets where business potential justifies active market investment. Activities will include but not be limited to the following: Develop business and contractual relationships with the alternate Channels selected for each market. Channel contracts will be structured in a way that will prevent conflict with other markets serviced by other Representative Channels. Help develop the pricing structure that will optimize margins, revenue and market growth in each defined market segment. The CM will leverage marketing competencies to develop marketing communications (trade magazine articles, product brochures, etc.) that will seed early interest in our products. The CM will work in conjunction with customers, BD and product management to develop product and software modifications that will tailor our products to defined customer needs. The CM will work together with corporate marketing resources to identify legislative activities that can have the most impact on market development and initiate activities at the state or federal level that will have the highest probability for passage. Attend professional seminars, symposiums, etc. and use these forums to expose our technology to new potential markets. Prepare and present technical papers that stimulate interest and motivate key opinion leaders to investigate our technology. Channel Support Through coordinated efforts with BD, the CM will serve as a point of contact with defined Channels and facilitate communications with key in-house personnel that will support a successful business relationship. Specific activities will include but not be limited to the following: Seek out and sign representative and Channel partners with synergistic products lines and appropriate sales personnel. Sales support of representation/Channel partners. Trade show support, particularly for markets identified as having significant growth potential. Also use these forums to actively solicit sales partners. Work closely with BD Managers to grow sales through the Channel and minimize Channel conflict. Work together with BD, corporate marketing and product management to facilitate regular and ongoing feedback from customers to address their needs. Work together with sales operations, corporate and local support resources to define and streamline logistics on process issues relating to forecasting, delivery, order management and customer repairs. Define training and education requirements that will support Channel sales organizations and customers in new and existing market segments. Work together with in-house or external training resources to develop training materials and a business model that supports the investment in training & support.
